The minute I saw Norah Gaughan’s gorgeous top Olivia Bell, I knew, I needed one for myself!

Luckily, I was selected as a test knitter and had the joy of diving into the fun early.

Norah’s cropped top has a garter ridge yoke with stripes in contrast colours and long bell sleeves, where you find the stripes again at the garter ridge cuffs. Olivia Bell is knitted in-the-round from the top down. The back is raised with short rows. No seaming is required.

The original pattern is knit with a DK weight yarn. In my vision, I imagined a lighter version with On Stage - Long Métrage and Silk Divine held together throughout, and I am delighted how my Olivia Bell turned out!

The main colour in On Stage - Long Métrage is used throughout the entire sweater. I joined one strand of Silk Divine in the matching colour for the MC parts and added on strand each of three contrasting colours in Silk Divine to achieve the stripes.

My sample is knitted in size 3 in the following colours:
MC1 On Stage - Long Métrage in EO, MC2 Silk Divine in Louvet
Contrast colours - Silk Divine: CC A - Fresh Laundry, CC B - Greenello, CC C - Mallow Breath

MC1 – 2 (2, 3, 3, 4)(4, 5, 6, 7) skeins in Nature's Luxury ON STAGE – LONG MÉTRAGE, hand-dyed, 50% superfine Merino, 30% Silk, 20% Baby Camel, approx. 400m/100g, in a colour of your choice.
MC2 – 2 (3, 3, 4, 4)(4, 5, 6, 6) skeins in Nature’s Luxury SILK DIVINE, Silk Divine, hand-dyed, 60% Kid Mohair, 40% Silk, approx. 240m/20g, in a matching colour to MC1 to the chosen Long Métrage.
These two yarns are held together for the parts that require the MC in the pattern.

CC A – 1 (1, 1, 1, 1)(1, 1, 2, 2) skein(s) in Nature’s Luxury SILK DIVINE, Silk Divine, hand-dyed, 60% Kid Mohair, 40% Silk, approx. 240m/20g, in a colour of your choice.
CC B – 1 (1, 1, 1, 1)(1, 1, 1, 1) skein(s) in Nature’s Luxury SILK DIVINE, Silk Divine, hand-dyed, 60% Kid Mohair, 40% Silk, approx. 240m/20g, in a colour of your choice.
CC C – 1 (1, 1, 1, 1)(1, 1, 1, 1) skein in Nature’s Luxury SILK DIVINE, Silk Divine, hand-dyed, 60% Kid Mohair, 40% Silk, approx. 240m/20g, in a colour of your choice.
One Strand of these three contrast colours will be held together with MC1 in Long Métrage to knit the stripes.

If you prefer a longer pullover, you can easily make it longer by adding more rounds before working the hem. Please note that a longer version may require more yarn than included in the kits.
