Fair Isle Meets Modern – Mascarade Slipover by Julia Exner
The Mascarade Slipover combines the timeless charm of classic Fair Isle patterns with a contemporary twist: the all-over graphic knit pattern and relaxed fit make this piece a true statement for any wardrobe.
It's knitted top-down, with a "European Shoulder" construction for a beautifully tailored fit.
For her design, Julia chose On Stage - Long Métrage, our wonderfully soft and luxurious fingering-weight yarn made from merino, silk and baby camel, in the colours les châteaux de sable (MC), Mascarade (CC1) and Lili Marleen (CC2).
Two Techniques – Your Choice
The pattern includes two versions for working the upper body:
* Worked flat (in rows) – for anyone who isn't put off by purling colourwork
* Worked in the round – using only knit stitches, to be steeked later (full instructions included)
This way, you can choose whichever technique suits you best.
