Meet the ethereal, breezy RASA shawl, designed by INESE SANG, a super talented independent knitting pattern designer, expressing her own distinct style in her creations, reflecting her roots. Inese lives with her family in Canada. She grew up in Latvia, where the knitting tradition is deeply embedded in the culture and goes beyond practicality and visual beauty.

She seduces her admirers with dreamy, pure shawl designs with a hint of romanticism and loves to explore with light and texture, enjoying the process of finding the perfect stitches for every yarn she works with.

For her first collaboration with Nature’s Luxury, Inese chose La Parisienne and Silk Divine in two refined, hand-dyed shades in natural tones; two yarns, opposite in texture and feel, the first crisp and clean with an excellent stitch definition, the latter, mysterious, downy and very soft.

Inese’s musings on her inspiration and the yarn: Rasa means 'Dew' in Latvian. The shawl is fully translucent, mainly thanks to the amazing and airy merino chainette yarn which I worked with for the first time. Rasa is calming and also addictive to make. The body is a sail-through with simple yet textural stitches, and the airy lace edging continued from the live stitches and picked up along the other side, is worked in Silk Divine held double for a soft and summer-light contrast.
